Working for one of the largest agricultural businesses in the world might seem like an unlikely career for a fourth generation city girl, but if you’ve ever talked to Janice Person you know it makes perfect sense. At her core, Janice is a storyteller and has built a career telling farmers’ stories and helping them tell their own story. In her current role as online engagement director at Monsanto, Janice uses storytelling to help people in online spaces better understand agriculture.

When Marlene joined her husband B.J. in founding Herdmark, she brought a commitment to communicating agriculture. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural education and communication from The Ohio State University and the University of Florida, Marlene loves learning the stories of individuals, companies, and brands. Based in part on her own experience growing up on a family farm, she believes in the powerful story being lived out each day on America’s farms and ranches and eagerly engages clients in the process of sharing that story. When Marlene joined her husband B.J. in founding Herdmark Media, she brought a commitment to communicating agriculture’s key messages. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural education and communication from The Ohio State University and the University of Florida, Marlene loves learning the stories of individuals, companies, and brands. Based in part on her own experience growing up on a family farm, she believes in the powerful story being lived out each day on America’s farms and ranches and she eagerly engages clients in the process of sharing that story. Marlene’s strengths serve clients by bringing together all the pieces for a shoot day and guiding clients through the production process. She is also a talented coach and trainer, often invited to speak and lead workshops on storytelling, maximizing strengths, and expanding influence. Marlene serves on the Ohio FFA Foundation’s Board of Directors, chairs the Ohio Pork Council’s Showpig Committee, and is an active church musician.
