Scott Stebner, a commercial photographer and videographer, was be our 2019 Capture Agriculture Photo and Video Contest Judge! He has photography and videography pieces that can be seen nationally and is the Director of Communications at the Kansas Beef Council.
Scott strives to use his photography to show the authenticity and grit of farmers and ranchers across the midwest. His style of photography intensely captures and conveys the emotion present at that time and place. His work is uniquely raw, real and unrestrained.
Scott is always looking for a new and creative way to showcase the people he photographs and their stories. He is known for photographing professional bull riders directly after their runs. He used the opportunity to capture true toughness with the daring riders. The photos from that shoot were featured on Everything Cowboy.
His work can be seen in the photo book, Kansas Farmer, which was a project he and the Kansas Farm Bureau partnered together to create. The piece showcases the contribution, dedication and resilience of farmers and ranchers in Kansas. Funds from the partnership are returned to the core of what Scott believes in - spreading the stories of hardworking folks - via scholarships to agricultural communications students at Kansas State University.
Scott has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a masters degree in agricultural communication from Kansas State University. We were thrilled to have him as a guest judge for the contest this year. To see his work visit his website or connect with him on Instagram or Twitter.
